Enjoy a day out in the Kosciuszko National Park with a visit to Charlotte Pass Village, Australia’s highest ski resort. Although snowbound for most of the ski season, during summer we can drive to the village. At 1765 metres above sea level, it is Australia’s oldest and highest resort and is named after Charlotte Adams who was the first woman to climb Mt Kosciuszko. Charlotte Pass is in the middle of Kosciuszko National Park and some of the area’s most idyllic alpine scenery. Enjoy lunch at The Kosciuszko Chalet which was established in 1930 and is the birthplace of modern skiing in Australia. On our way to Charlotte Pass we enjoy a tour of the Gaden Trout Farm. On our way home, we visit the Snowy Regions Visitor Centre at Jindabyne.
Today we travel via Cooma towards Jindabyne stopping at the Gaden Trout Hatchery for a tour. From here we head into Kosciuszko National Park travelling via Sawpit Creek and the Perisher Ski Resort to Charlotte Pass Village, Australia’s highest ski resort. Enjoy the sights as well as lunch at The Kosciuszko Chalet. This afternoon we head back to Jindabyne where we stop to visit the Snowy Regions Visitor Centre before heading back to Canberra to commence drop offs at approximately 6:00pm.
