Hailed by Time Magazine as ‘a landmark theatre event’, this powerfully moving and imaginative drama, filled with stirring music and songs, is a show of phenomenal inventiveness. At its heart are astonishing life-sized puppets created by South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company, who bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to thrilling life on stage. At the outbreak of World War One, Joey, young Albert’s beloved horse, is sold to the cavalry and shipped from England to France. He is soon caught up in enemy fire, and fate takes him on an extraordinary journey, serving on both sides before finding himself alone in no man’s land. But Albert cannot forget Joey and, still not old enough to enlist, he embarks on a treacherous mission to find him and bring him home.
We depart Queanbeyan and Canberra, travel via the Federal and Hume Highways stopping for morning tea from the coach at Sutton Forest. Following morning tea, we continue to the Sydney Lyric Theatre. You will have some time to purchase lunch (own expense), prior to the 1.00pm performance of ‘War Horse’. To avoid being locked out of the theatre, please be in your seat by 12.45pm. At the conclusion of the show, we reboard the coach and make our way to the Campbelltown Catholic Club for dinner before embarking on our journey home, arriving back to commence first drop offs at approximately 9.30pm.Booking Request Download Brochure Terms & Conditions
