I write, having returned last week from the 12-day tour of Tasmania, to say how very pleased I was with the itinerary, the accommodation, the activities on offer and the variety that was packed into our short visit.
I particularly commend Greg, who in addition to his legendary competent driving, was unfailingly helpful and obliging to all passengers and to the staff at all the hotels and attractions alike. This was particularly noticeable in his ability to keep the various needs of the passengers in mind while tempering the more excitable among us with his calm demeanour and well-chosen words. We are indeed fortunate to have Greg as our driver on many of the tours that Potter Travel offers. Tasmania is one of the most interesting tours I have experienced. I thought that there was a remarkable diversity in what we saw from heritage rain forest to convict history to farms villages and wilderness. Possibly the most memorable excursion for me was the eco-adventure cruise along the coastline of the Tasman National Park. Very unique and memorable. Another extraordinary experience among many was the visit to the wind farm at Woolnorth. I learned a lot that day! If I have any unfulfilled wish it would be that a visit to MONA in Hobart be included rather than the visit to Curringa Farm. While very pleasant it was not new to any of us to see sheep being herded and shorn. I wonder if MONA were included on the itinerary at a future tour whether those who do not want to visit this gallery would appreciate a relaxing afternoon in Hobart. This trip to Tassie was significant to me because my late husband and I last visited the island state 50 years ago on our honeymoon. Much has changed since then, of course, but I still found it to be a sentimental journey with wonderful experiences. Thank you to Potter Travel for providing these for us on this tour as I would not have been able to access them if I travelled alone. Sincerely, Janet Moyle.
