This is the time of year when the Hilltops smell of ripe cherries. Departing Canberra on Tuesday 1 December 2026, we travel out through Boorowa for morning tea on the courthouse lawn, and on to Young for a wander through the Lambing Flat Chinese Tribute Gardens and the famous Poppa’s Fudge and Jam Factory.
Then it’s on to Ballinaclash, the heart of the day, where you’re guided through the orchard and vineyard from the comfort of your seat, treated to a picnic lunch under the trees, and a pie-making demonstration. Before being turned loose among the cherry trees to pick your own fruit at its absolute peak (at your own expense).
On the way home, we stop at Harden for a honey tasting and a look at the Murrumburrah Mill Silo Art before returning home in the early evening.
