There’s nowhere quite like Tamworth in January. As the largest music festival in Australia and one of the biggest country music events in the world, the Tamworth Country Music Festival draws over 300,000 visitors across its 10-day program — and we’re taking you right into the heart of it.
Our five-day journey begins with a scenic drive to Bathurst, where we tour the magnificent Abercrombie House before exploring the National Motor Racing Museum at Mount Panorama. From there, it’s on to Tamworth itself for two full days immersed in the festival atmosphere — visiting the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame, soaking up live music from buskers and street performers around the iconic Peel Street precinct, and enjoying a relaxed group lunch together. With over 700 performers across 2,800 shows during the festival period, there’s something for every country music lover, and plenty of free time to follow your own pace. We then make our way home via Newcastle, with a charming stop in Scone — the Horse Capital of Australia — and finish with a delightful high tea at Centennial Vineyards in the Southern Highlands before returning to Canberra.
